Our Programs

We do not design programs from a desk in the city and deliver them to passive recipients. Every initiative we run was shaped by listening — to teachers who could not find schools, to parents who could not afford books, to patients who could not pay for treatment, and to communities still rebuilding after the 2015 earthquake. Our programs sit across four areas: Education, Health & Welfare, Animal Welfare, and Community Development. Each one is community-led, fully transparent, and designed not just to help now — but to create lasting change.

Education & Development

Building Brighter Futures

Education is the foundation of lasting change. Through scholarships, teacher sponsorships, school infrastructure, and educational resources, HCP helps children in remote communities access quality education and brighter opportunities.

Teacher Sponsoring Program

Himalayan Community Project has been sponsoring few teachers for the schools of remote area of Nepal to enhance the quality of education since last few years. On the one hand, the school in rural part of Nepal hardly afford the teachers and the qualified teaching manpower hardly get job. Thus we want to supply both requirements by sponsoring teachers to the schools of rural area of Nepal.

We offer scholarship scheme to the needy students of remote area of Nepal. We want them to get enlightened though the light of education. We prioritize those who are genuinely enthusiastic in study but lack of financial support from parents. Besides, we also insist on marginalized and disadvantaged groups of the society while offering scholarship schemes.

School Supplies

Providing Educational Materials

Since the parents of school children are not sufficiently well off in rural part of Nepal and the desires of the children from grass root and high economic status are same, we really don't want the children from low economic background to be deprived of stationeries during their study period. Thus, we are providing educational materials like stationeries, school bags, uniforms, crayons and the like to the needy students who are studying in rural part of Nepal.

Constructing School Blocks

Himalayan Community Project is offering financial support to construct school blocks especially in remote area of Dhading and Gorkha district. So far, we have constructed a number of school blocks in remote area of Nepal. Recently, Mr. Andrew Cook has funded some amount of money to Himalayan Community Project and HCP has donated the amount to construct earthquake resistant school building in remote area of Dhading District.

Health facilities are scarce in remote Nepal and a single illness can push a struggling family into crisis. Our health programs promote everyday wellness and provide urgent support to those facing serious illness — wherever they are.

Hike for Health

Hike for Health is a community wellness initiative by Himalayan Community Project that brings people together every Saturday for a guided hike in and around the Kathmandu Valley. The program promotes physical fitness, mental well-being, and a deeper connection with nature and community. Whether you are a seasoned hiker or a first-timer, everyone is welcome to join the walk.

No one should face serious illness alone. We support cancer patients and people in medical crisis who cannot afford treatment — covering hospital costs, medication, and diagnostics. Now expanding to reach anyone facing a health emergency with nowhere to turn.

True social responsibility does not stop at human welfare. Thousands of street dogs in Kathmandu go hungry every day. Our animal welfare program is a consistent, loving response to their suffering — carried out by dedicated volunteers, every single day.

Dog Feeding Program

The Dog Feeding Program is HCP's compassionate outreach to street dogs living in and around Kathmandu Valley. Recognizing that care for all living beings is at the heart of humanity, HCP volunteers regularly feed stray dogs who are left without food or shelter on the streets. This program reflects our belief that true social responsibility extends beyond human welfare to all creatures in need.

Strong communities are the foundation of all progress. From emergency relief after disasters to warm clothing in winter, our community programs stand beside families at their most vulnerable — with practical, immediate help that makes a real difference.

Since the 2015 earthquake, HCP has provided food, tents, and shelter materials to more than 50 families. Many remain homeless. We are now raising funds to build permanent, earthquake-resistant community housing in Dhading District.
