How We Work

Every project follows the same community-led process—from listening to local needs to delivering transparent results.

We Listen

Village committees tell us what their community truly needs before any project begins.

01

We Plan

Local staff and volunteers work together with the community to design the project.

02

We Build

Our teams travel—often for days on foot—to deliver projects where they are needed most.

03

We Report

Every project concludes with photos, financial reporting, and measurable outcomes shared publicly.

04
We operate on a simple rule: no project begins until the community itself has asked for it. That keeps our work small enough to do well, and honest enough to keep doing.

Earthquake Relief, Eleven Years On

Since Nepal was terribly hit by devastating earthquake, April 25 Earthquake, Himalayan Community Project is wholeheartedly providing relief aids for more than 50 families . HCP provided food stuffs, tents and GI steel strip during the disaster. Still the poverty stricken people are homeless and they are sheltering in small huts since the government of Nepal has not allocated sufficient budget to reconstruct their houses. Thus, our upcoming project is to build Community Settlement which can be inhabited during disaster. We are raising fund for this project at the moment. No sooner we have sufficient fund, we start this project. In the first phase, we are planning to build community settlement in rural part of Dhading district.

Our Mission

Built by the families who needed it first

Himalayan Community Project began in 2012 as a small group of trekking guides raising support for their home villages. Following the 2015 earthquake, our work expanded, but our mission remained the same: communities identify their needs, and we work together to create sustainable, long-term solutions.

  • Staffed almost entirely by people from the villages we serve
  • Full financial transparency with quarterly public reports
  • Every project begins only after the community requests it
