Registered NGO — Empowering Himalayan Communities Every Day

Our Story

Fourteen Years of Building Stronger Communities

Since 2012, Himalayan Community Project has partnered with remote communities across Nepal to improve education, healthcare, disaster resilience, and sustainable development through community-led initiatives.

How We Began

Himalayan Community Project (HCP) was founded in 2012 by passionate local volunteers who believed that lasting change begins with strong communities. What started as small acts of service in remote Himalayan villages has grown into a registered nonprofit dedicated to education, healthcare, disaster relief, environmental conservation, and sustainable community development.nnThe devastating 2015 Nepal earthquake transformed the scale of our work. HCP provided emergency relief, food, temporary shelters, and long-term rebuilding support to affected families. That experience strengthened our commitment to transparency, local leadership, and sustainable development. Today, every project continues to begin by listening to the communities we serve and working together to create lasting impact.

Our Objectives

Investing in People, Not Just Projects

Buildings, classrooms, and medical supplies matter, but the longest-lasting investment we make is in people. Local coordinators, trained teachers, volunteers, and community leaders are the reason our work continues long after a project is completed. By strengthening local skills and leadership, we help communities build a future they can sustain themselves.
